Yellowstone February 2009

Grandma & Grandpa Ault took us on another fabulous trip. This time it was Yellowstone. I had never been to Yellowstone so it was quite a treat for me. We took a tour into the park on this awesome big yellow bus :) We saw tons of animals and the girls loved it. I was on the bus with my friend Angela and her daughter Savannah. It really was an awesome trip.

Here's to being a mom !!

I have 6 kids over here right now, and I read this email I got from a friend. I am so grateful to be a mom. And I am thankful that my kids have been blessed with parents who care about them. Of the kids I have here, they have all been effected by one or all of the following trials. Divorce, Parents with Drug Problems, Living with Grandparents, and many others.

May we all remember that what we do has a HUGE impact on our children. I need this advice more than anyone. So thank you Jen... It's a great reminder.

WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASN'T LOOKING

A message every adult should read because children are watching you and doing as you do, not as you say.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediatelywanted to paint another one.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you feed a stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make my favorite cake for me, and I learned that the little things can be the special things in life.

When you thought I wasn't looking I heard you say a prayer, and I knew that there is a God I could always talk to, and I learned to trust in Him.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take care of each other.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give of your time and money to help people who had nothing, and I learned that those who have something should give to those who don't.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it, and I learned we have to take care of what we are given.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw how you handled your responsibilities, even when you didn't feel good, and I learned that I would have to be responsible when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw tears come from your eyes, and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it's all right to cry.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw that you cared, and I wanted to be everything that I could be.

When you thought I wasn't looking I learned most of life's lessons that I need to know to be a good and productive person when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking I looked at you and wanted to say,'Thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn't looking.'

Done with the Diet !!

So I have been on a horrible no Iodine diet for the past few weeks (not of my own free will, it was Doctor ordered). I could eat anything I wanted... as long as there is no Salt, Dairy, Eggs, or Red Dye #3. What can I eat you ask?? Friut, Veggies, 5 oz of meat (with nothing on it) and anything home made that doesn't contain any of the ingredients listed above. It has been really hard. But I didn't cheat once. I took the Radiation pill on Friday then went to Vegas with the Ault Family to see Donny & Marie. The concert was awesome, but I still say that Marie is a much better performer than Donny. She was amazing !! I hope I look that good when I'm her age with 8 kids......lol I better get working if I'm going to have 8 kids ;) Anyways we went to eat at Cheesecake Factory and the awesome waiter brought me the best meal I had in weeks. Steak, and Green Beans with nothing on them. It was fabulous ! Then to top the night off, I stood next to the waiter and he made me feel tall !! What a great night !

Then when I got home I did the thyroid scan on Monday and on Tuesday my (hot and single) Doctor called me and told me that scan was normal. (wow that's a first for me...... being called normal) So my first meal was a salad from Bajio and ice cream from Cold Stone. So my Thyroid is Cancer Free !! Here is a picture of the salad I ate !! It was soooo good, but it gave me bad heartburn because I haven't eaten anything like that for a while.

Things I missed......... Cheese, Milk, Olives, and Ice Cream !!! But I really did appreciate the diet because I found a lot of foods that are very healthy that I really like. So I am going to start eating healthy. Yeah For Me !! Oh yes, I also got a fresh peach shake from Taco Amigo today. It was the last day, so it was perfect timing ! Thanks Andrea for the last day heads up ;)

Elder Ault (the 4th)

My youngest brother Ethan is now in the MTC.....( well he has been there for a few weeks now) he will be an AMAZING missionary. He loves the Gospel more than life and he is so passionate about it. He will be leaving the USA and going to Switzerland on November 11th. Here are a few pictures of the day he left. (along with an awesome picture taken by Nicole )

The Newbie and the Oldies :)

Ethan with the girls at IHOP before the MTC

This was not posed at all...... it was so funny how it turned out. He just wasn't paying attention to Tyler taking the picture.

I got a letter from him last week that started out "My Beloved Sister" Mom nearly wet her pants laughing......... I don't know why that's so funny, I mean...what's not to love right ?
Ok later in the letter he said "When people here talk about their families & tell me how awesome they are, I just smile because they really don't know what awesome is :) I know that I have the best family in the whole world !" Then he told me that I am his favorite sister...lol Just kidding, just seeing if anyone really reads my posts.
So Shelby decided to write him a letter that starts out... " Dear Ethan From Shelby. I know how it is. I go with my dad all the time. and I leve home. I'm just like you I'm glad that you teach the scripchrs.......... enyway and the most inporint thing is I had fun and happy not sad happy. and you have to be happy to not just ne you to. I miss you. Do you like teaching the scriphrs? Do people like you? I love you 1000% and that is really truw. Have you had fun? Has enybody nown the scripchrs? Are you been happy eny of the time? I'll talk to you later. Love Shelby
Isn't that the cutest thing ?? Ethan responded and said he really really enjoyed reading Shelby's letter and it almost brought a tear to his eye. Wow, maybe he'll cry at least once on his mission.
We love you Ethan and pray for you all the time.
